Turning Passion Into Progress

Like many others, Zhizhang faced the unexpected challenges brought by the global pandemic upon graduating in 2021 with a master's degree in computer science, which made finding a job in his field especially difficult.

Initially, he found himself working at an e-commerce company, handling technical tasks and administrative documentation. Despite this temporary role, his passion for computer science remained unwavering. In his spare time, he taught programming to children at a local tutoring school, nurturing the next generation of tech enthusiasts.

“From May to August 2023, I participated in Revature’s online training program while living in New York City. In September 2023, I relocated to Plano, Texas, seeking better opportunities to achieve my career aspirations. My dream was always to become a Software Engineer, and my turning point came when I discovered Revature, a leading technology talent as a service provider.”

Training That Fuels Futures

The training program was rigorous and practical, designed to simulate real-world scenarios and develop job-ready skills. 

Throughout the program, Zhizhang worked on two in-depth projects, strengthening his technical expertise, equipping him with the problem-solving skills required to excel in the tech industry, and preparing him to transition into a professional role.

Joining One of the Big Four U.S. Banks

With Revature’s structured approach, Zhizhang secured a client placement with JPMorganChase as a contract Software Engineer. He was nervous about entering a demanding role at a renowned institution, but the technical foundation and guidance he received gave him the confidence to thrive. The concepts and practices he learned, such as Java Spring Boot and React, applied to his responsibilities, enabling him to make an immediate impact.

“After a year of dedication and success, I was offered a full-time position with JPMC, marking a significant milestone in my career. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to transform my aspirations into reality. Revature’s program gave me the skills needed to succeed and instilled in me the resilience and confidence to take on new challenges.”
